Sea Fishing
The Adriatic Sea is a paradise for both diving lovers and those who love fishing. If you want to engage in sport fishing during your holiday in Istria, you will need a license. Licenses are issued for sport angling, hand angling, line-fishery with up to 150 hooks, tuna hunting (and similar large fish) and speargun fishing.
Licenses for a period of 1, 3, 7 or 30 days can be bought in authorized travel agencies and offices. The price depends on the license duration. A special license is required for tuna, swordfish and Mediterranean spearfish fishing.
The fish caught in sport fishing cannot be used for commercial purposes.
License is not valid for fishing economically important fish species and other marine organisms smaller than those prescribed by Law order on the protection of fish and other marine organisms.
For diving with equipment you will need a permission you can obtain with the registered clubs with the prior presentation of the certificate on passed examination. Mask diving does not require a special permission.
